The risk is the gap in the evidence chain, not the scrap

A retired server in Vienna, a store in Wiener Neudorf or a hall in Styria remains a GDPR and DSG file until erasure is evidenced. The Austrian Data Protection Authority (dsb.gv.at) expects per-drive traceability, not a recycling invoice. The Datenschutzgesetz supplements GDPR — it does not replace it.

The Elektroaltgeräteverordnung (EAG-VO) and the Waste Management Act 2002 frame the channel. The Abfallbehandlungspflichtenverordnung (AbfallBPV) sets how WEEE must be treated — not only that it is collected. EAK coordinates household collection. Approved EAG compliance schemes include ERA, UFH, ERP Austria and Interzero. RecyclicTech is none of these. ARA is the packaging scheme, not the EAG track. We route professional lots through certified EAG-VO-compatible channels and write the path into the chain.

Austria has a strong residual-value culture, high national EAG collection targets (65 % of POM or 85 % of WEEE arising) and a Green Tech Valley cluster in Styria/Carinthia. None of that replaces an erasure certificate. We assess a credit note after inventory — never as a guaranteed spot price. Collection for organisations is free. Household donations use a separate product.

How the work runs

Capture the lot
Equipment type, approximate volume, site (Vienna, Graz, Linz, Salzburg, Innsbruck), window, access. Three fields plan the first visit.

Collection and de-install
On-site strip-out, pack, remove. Neighbouring racks stay live. Discretion for banks, the City of Vienna and hospitals.

Certified data erasure
NIST SP 800-88 wipe or physical destruction. The briefing decides. Then residual-value check. Nothing is remarketed without written release.

File and credit note
Erasure certificate per drive or serial, chain of custody, itemised asset report, ESG summary. Built for internal audit and the DPO. Credit note when the lot supports it.

What we will not invent

ISO/IEC 27001:2022 company certification is in process (expected within about 14 days of 22 August 2026). No badge and no number until both can be verified. No unpublished Austrian company number as a branch.
No phantom address on Wienerberg or in Graz. Processing after collection: Strada Putnei 213, 725400 Rădăuți, Romania — declared, not hidden.
