IT asset disposition is the process of collecting, securing, assessing and recovering value from retired business technology. Equipment may be reused, refurbished, remarketed or responsibly recycled depending on its condition, data-security requirements and residual value. RecyclicTech runs that sequence for organisations across Europe. A skip labelled recycling is not ITAD.
Can old servers be recycled?

Yes. Enterprise servers can be tested and prepared for reuse, remarketed where commercially viable, or dismantled for responsible material recovery when reuse is not appropriate. RecyclicTech inventories and sanitises the lot first. Recycling is the last route, not the product name. A crushed chassis photo is not a destruction certificate.
What is data-centre decommissioning?

Data-centre decommissioning is the controlled removal of a live or retired hall: inventory, power-down, de-install, pack, transport, sanitise, recover and recycle. RecyclicTech treats the empty hall as the midpoint of the work, not the end of it. Certificates follow the serials. A skip day with no inventory is demolition, not decommissioning.
How do you securely destroy data on old servers?
Secure data destruction — method named per serial
RecyclicTech isolates data-bearing media, then runs NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 1 — Clear, Purge or Destroy — chosen in the assessment and named on the certificate per serial. Failed erase becomes Destroy on the same file. A recycling ticket, a factory reset, a magnet on an SSD, or a crushed-chassis photo is a different document. We will not print it as sanitisation.
What happens to electronic equipment that cannot be reused?
IT recycling is the last route, not the product
After sanitisation, equipment that cannot economically or technically be reused is routed through WEEE-compatible channels for material recovery. RecyclicTech evaluates first, then recycles. We do not make environmental percentages we cannot verify, and we do not present recycling as a substitute for reuse where reuse is viable. A WEEE transfer note is not a destruction certificate.
Do you collect old IT equipment for free?
Free collection for organisations — when the lot carries freight
For organisations retiring IT, collection, de-installation and processing are provided at no charge when the lot carries freight. Residual remarketing value covers the work and may return as a rebate. No figure is promised before the lot is seen. Households and schools use the donate portal and the sender pays the courier. Do not send household laptops on a corporate ITAD booking.
