What you're actually donating

Yes — you can donate your laptop to RecyclicTech, and one is enough. A laptop you've replaced still has years left in it for a student who has none. You buy a prepaid courier label on this site, we sanitise the drive to NIST SP 800-88, test the machine, and route working laptops toward classroom reuse. RecyclicTech is a for-profit IT-recovery company, not a charity — so there is no tax receipt, just a machine that gets a second life instead of a landfill.

How to donate your laptop, step by step

Back up your files. Reset if you like — we wipe anyway. Add the charger if you have it. Buy the prepaid label on recyclictech.com/donate/shipping. You pay the courier; there is no donation fee. The parcel reaches Rădăuți. We sanitise to NIST SP 800-88, test it, and route working kit toward schools.

The part everyone worries about: your data

Every donated device is treated as data-bearing and sanitised before reuse. Before a donated laptop is reused, its drive is sanitised to the NIST SP 800-88 standard. If a drive is faulty and can't be verified clean, it's physically destroyed and recycled instead of reused. We reference NIST 800-88 as the standard we follow; we don't display it as a certification we haven't been issued.
