How to choose a UK ITAD vendor without buying a badge page

Most UK ITAD landing pages are a stack of badges: a claimed ICO number, an ADISA mark, a T11, an ISO seal, a London warehouse. RecyclicTech’s RFP answer is shorter. Questions that actually separate vendors

Where is media sanitised? What method, named? Can I see a redacted certificate with serials? Who is the legal entity? What will you not print? If the answer to the last one is “nothing”, they will print anything.

  1. Legal name and company number — check it.
  2. Processing address — not a virtual office.
  3. Per-serial method — NIST SP 800-88 or say why not.
  4. WEEE papers — separate from the data certificate.
  5. Badges — register URL or they do not exist.

Should we require ADISA?+

Only if you need that scheme. RecyclicTech does not hold it and will not imply it. Ask for serial-level evidence either way.

Is ICO registration the same as GDPR compliance?+

No. RecyclicTech does not publish an ICO number. UK GDPR proof is the destruction file, not a register extract we do not have.

Why is the plant in Romania?+

Because that is where processing runs. It is written on the certificate. A fake Slough plant would rank better and fail the first audit.

Can we use this page in an RFP?+
