WEEE duty of care for UK ITAD — what actually closes the file

When electrical kit becomes waste, UK duty of care does not leave with the van. GOV.UK is explicit: if you transport WEEE you need a waste transfer note or a hazardous-waste consignment note. RecyclicTech returns WEEE papers on the same file as the per-serial destruction certificates. We do not publish an Environment Agency permit, a T11 exemption or a Defra affiliation we have not been issued. Empty is more useful in an audit than a invented number.

UK corridor racks ready to leave as documented WEEE, not mixed general waste

What to take from this page

  • Duty of care stays with the organisation until the papers come back.
  • A WEEE transfer note is not a destruction certificate.
  • RecyclicTech does not print T11, CBDU or a Digital Waste Tracking ID it does not hold.
  • Digital Waste Tracking becomes mandatory from October 2026 for permitted receivers — the ID goes on the file the day we have it.

What the law actually asks

The WEEE Regulations sit on GOV.UK. Duty of care is a separate, older obligation: know who takes the waste, and keep the note. RecyclicTech writes against those pages. We do not paraphrase a competitor’s “fully licensed AATF in every postcode” claim.

What this file will not pretend

That RecyclicTech is a UK AATF. That 66 Paul Street is a treatment plant. That a recycling ticket is the data certificate. The waste trail and the data trail are two lines. Both come back. Neither is invented.

Questions

Straight answers.

Is a recycling ticket WEEE compliance?+

It can be part of the waste trail. It is not UK GDPR proof. RecyclicTech returns both documents.

Do you hold an Environment Agency permit?+

No number is published on this site. We will not print T11, CBDU or an AATF registration we have not been issued.

Who is the producer under WEEE?+

Usually the brand that put the kit on the UK market — not the ITAD collector. RecyclicTech does not take producer obligations by collecting your cages.

When will Digital Waste Tracking appear on the file?+

The day we hold a consignment ID. Not as a placeholder. GOV.UK has said the service becomes mandatory from October 2026 for permitted receivers.
